Singing is for Everyone.
It improves our breathing, helps us express our emotions and releases endorphins - the happy chemicals, making us feel really good.
Singing is not just reserved for professionals or “naturals”. It’s a natural part of being human, a way to connect with our own voice, our bodies, and the culture of sound that surrounds us.
Singing can also feel like therapy for the soul. It gives us a safe space to release tension, process emotions, and experience the grounding, healing benefits of mindful breathing and sound.
But the problem is, sometimes our voice doesn’t do what we want it to do… and that can feel frustrating. That’s where my method comes in.
A Holistic, Science-Based Approach
My style of teaching is rooted in both science and soul. I combine:
Science-based vocal technique – rooted in centuries-old Bel Canto principles and updated with modern voice science.
Mindset training – building confidence, resilience, and joy in singing.
Holistic + Somatic awareness – connecting mind, body, and emotions so your whole self is involved when you sing.
Because singing isn’t just about “hitting the notes” – it’s about feeling free, expressive, and authentic in your voice. Think…EXPRESSING > PERFORMING!
The Science of the Voice
I teach using the IVA technique, based on 17th- and 18th-century Bel Canto principles (“beautiful song”) and informed by modern vocal science.
The goals are to:
Move your voice freely from low to high, smoothly and without strain.
Develop tonal clarity, flexibility, and dynamic control.
Build vocal strength, range, and resonance without fatigue or damage.
By training in this technique, you will have access to all dynamics, with tonal clarity and flexibility. You will also find that it will improve your range, endurance, stamina, resonance, vocal strength and vocal quality across all styles of music without fatigue or damage to the voice.
This is achieved by balancing airflow, vocal cord closure, and laryngeal stability – in simple terms: the right breath, the right cord closure, and a relaxed larynx that stays steady when you sing.
Common Vocal Struggles I Help With
Weak, breathy voice → Project naturally and sing with clarity.
Strain on high notes / cracking → Blend registers for smooth, effortless high notes.
Sudden breaks between registers → Strengthen the middle voice for one connected sound.
Yes – singing is a learned skill, and anyone can develop a confident, resonant, and joyful voice with the right guidance!
The Holistic Side of Singing
Technique alone isn’t enough. Singing is an embodied practice that involves:
Body – breath, posture, and somatic awareness
Mind – confidence, focus, and mindset
Emotion – authentic connection with your music
Spirit – release, expression, and joy
Lessons are tailored to your needs. Sometimes a single line in a song can be deeply cathartic. Other times, we explore colour, tone, and emotional shifts to expand both your vocal and emotional range.
This holistic approach means you’ll not only become a better singer – you’ll also develop self-awareness, confidence, and expressive freedom. Many students describe lessons as both therapeutic and energising.
✨ Singing is special. It’s healing, empowering, and for everyone. With the right blend of technique + mindset + holistic practice, you can unlock your fullest, freest voice.
