Portia is a Melbourne-based contemporary vocalist, certified singing instructor and sound facilitator. She has sung in choirs, participated in singing competitions, and performed at a variety of events — including weddings, private functions, live music venues, yoga and wellness spaces.

Portia’s formal training began in classical voice, achieving Grade 8 (ABRSM), and has since progressed to contemporary styles of singing. In addition to voice, Portia holds a Grade 8 in Piano (ABRSM) and a Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London (ATCL)

Portia began teaching voice after completing her Master’s Degree in Development Studies at The University of Sydney in 2019.

In 2022, she immersed herself in jazz and contemporary vocal studies, spending some time at Monash University (Jazz vocals), deepening her understanding of vocal artistry and modern music styles through workshops, mentorship, and focused study.

Through this experience, Portia discovered her true calling: teaching and empowering others to find their authentic voice, a passion that would shape her lifelong career.

As a member of The Institute for Vocal Advancement, Portia has received private training and mentorship from world-renowned master coaches and teachers, including Linda Tomkinson (USA), Stephanie Borm-Krüger (Germany), Andreas Grussl (Austria), and Heidi Krenn (Austria).

Portia’s goal is to equip her students with vocal knowledge and freedom so that they can feel fully free and connected to their deepest expressions.

She brings a holistic approach to each lesson, blending the interconnected effects of the voice, body, and mind—insights she has gained through her certification as a sound healing practitioner and her on-going interest in well-being.

Known for her heart-led teaching style, Portia is enthusiastic, patient, and deeply attentive to her students’ needs.

When not teaching, Portia enjoys spending time in nature, expanding her vocal knowledge, exploring her inner world through sound and meditation, collaborating with facilitators, and performing.
